tapes or adhesive films
Use: |
![]() |
Application of double-sided adhesive tapes on car parts such as body-side moldings, trim parts, roof rails, scuff plates, post finishers, fender extensions etc. |
![]() |
Application of single-sided adhesive tapes (e.g. foam tapes) on aluminum or plastic trim parts. |
![]() |
Application of foam sealing tapes and rubber joints on covers and sumps in order to guarantee tightness. |
![]() |
Application of single-sided masking tapes before painting or application of protection films. |
Machine Performance: |
![]() |
The machine is designed for optimization of customer requirements in terms of product as well as required quantities, flexibility and customer benefits. |
![]() |
Reachable cycle time for an ordinary set of body-side moldings: approx. 60 sec. This corresponds to a daily production of e.g. approx. 1,200 cars. This cycle time could be reduced by 50 % by optional modification of our standard modules. |
![]() |
Tolerances at initial and end point: approx. +/- 1 mm, tape course approx. +/- 0.5 mm. |
![]() |
Controlled application process. Thus, a process-reliable processing of the tape, according to the parameters given by the tape manufacturer, can be guaranteed. |
![]() |
The machine can be loaded by an operator or online, e.g. directly from the injection-molding machine. |
Machine Design and Functional Description: |
![]() |
The basic machine consists of a stable, self-supporting steel construction on machine feet. |
![]() |
In the center of this base plate a robot (6 axes) is installed, which is surrounded by the processing modules. This design allows for a flexible handling of the product by the robot as well as for a product processing in many different ways. |
![]() |
In order to guarantee an exact positioning and alignment of the product in the robot gripper, it is inserted into a prepositioning unit manually or online, e.g. directly from the handling of the injection-molding machine. Product positioning and alignment are fully automatic. |
![]() |
The robot moves with its product gripper to the prepositioning unit and takes up the product. The product is fixed by vacuum generators or by appropriate clamping devices. |
![]() |
In order to guarantee optimum cycle times, the robot moves on shortest ways to the individual processing modules, where the product is processed accordingly. |
![]() |
The processing modules are standardized modules, which are adapted to the required processing of the product. |

Linear application module for application of short adhesive tape sections |
Pad application module for application of adhesive pads |
Pad punching and application module for punching of adhesive pads and subsequent application |

Unidirectional unwinding station for unwinding of the adhesive tape from the level-wound tape coil |
Bidirectional unwinding station for unwinding and winding of level-wound tape coils |

After processing, the robot deposits the product for packing or in another prepositioning unit. Now, a further robot can take up the product for further processing. |

Unit for surface activation before tape application (flaming, corona, plasma, primer) |
![]() |
Marking and labeling unit for part labeling (e.g. production data or part identification) |
![]() |
Fully-automatic offset tape positioning by measuring of actual part dimensions |
![]() |

Benefits: |
![]() |
Highest possible security due to quality-controlled process |
